Silver Lining
Creatures all hurried,
Creatures big and small,
Home to nests and burrows,
Before nightfall.
Only i was wistful,
Un-thankful for the day,
Which for others had been fulfilling,
For me, a waste of breath.
I stared pointlessly at the sky,
It too was grey and gloomy,
As if sympathizing with
My mood melancholy.
But as i strolled further,
Looked through a slumbering tree,
I saw a beautiful pattern
Of golden filigree.
Only one orange cloud
In the light grey sky,
Had stayed behind alone
To bid me goodbye.
A tiny golden spot,
In all that vast grey,
Poured hope into my empty bowl,
And made my day...
